Biography

With a passion for nursing, I started a career in nursing at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Shadyside School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I then obtained professional nursing experience as a step-down open-heart nurse, medical cardiology nurse, and IV therapy nurse at a Level 1 trauma center. I decided to embark on a new journey in nursing, in nurse education in 2013. Dedicated to lifelong learning, I returned to school to complete a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2014, and then a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2020 at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have devoted the last ten years to nursing education by teaching nursing students in pre-licensure ADN and BSN programs.

I have had the opportunity and pleasure to teach nursing students in a wide variety of settings. With a commitment to student success and through a student-centered learning environment, I aspire to support and empower new nurses.
