BOCA RATON, Fla. (June 10, 2021) – Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing welcomed Timothy G. Snow, president of the George Snow Scholarship Fund, to its advisory board.
“With a wealth of experience as a leader in our community, we are thrilled Tim joined the College advisory board. His devotion to higher education and dedication to deserving scholars in our region make him an outstanding ambassador and advisor for the College,” said Safiya George, Ph.D. dean, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing.
Formed in 2012, the advisory board supports the College by leading advocacy and fundraising efforts. This past year, the board supported nursing students at a critical time by expanding its fundraising efforts for the College’s White Coat Ceremony, raising more than $100,000 so each student could receive a white coat scholarship and to provide additional support to nursing students.
“I am very excited to support the College’s mission of providing a world class education to the next generation of caring and compassionate nurses. I think nursing is one of the most important career paths one can follow in the healthcare industry. Nursing is much more than a job. It is their passion, it is engrained into their being,” said Snow. “It is my hope I may help the College continue its many institutional successes and thereby help their students succeed at what is the most noble of professions.”
Under Snow’s leadership, the George Snow Scholarship Fund has been recognized as one of the most respected nonprofit organizations in South Florida. Since its inception, the fund has awarded more than $13 million in college scholarships to more than 2,100 local, deserving scholars. Snow’s vision includes not only providing scholarships but also added support programs to ensure the success of scholars, including college physicals and laptops for each scholar. Snow has served in many leadership roles in the community and has been recognized for his many accomplishments and contributions.
