May 13, 2020

Save the Date:

Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. College of Nursing and Cross Country Healthcare will host a webinar, COVID & Compassion Fatigue, on May 21 at 2 p.m EST.

As patient census begins to drop, healthcare organizations and our communities attempt to recover and reflect on what will be our new normal. Meanwhile, our front-line nurses are facing a mental health crisis of their own: compassion fatigue.

In this webinar panel discussion, FAU Dean of Nursing, Safiya George, and Cross Country Healthcare’s Chief Clinical Officer, Hank Drummond, lead a panel discussion on combating compassion fatigue. Participants will engage and explore ways our nurse professionals can identify the signs of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and compassion fatigue in themselves and each other.

Panelists include:

Dr. Natalie Bermudez, Dean of the Nursing Program, International College of Health Sciences

Dr. Kay Edwards, Associate Dean and Professor, Florida Atlantic University

Dr. Beth King, Assistant Professor, Florida Atlantic University

Dr. Pat Liehr, Associate Dean for Nursing Research and Scholarship, Florida Atlantic University
