Faculty Recognized at Second Annual Authors & Artists Program

The Florida Atlantic University community celebrated the creative and scholarly achievements of its faculty and staff at the Second Annual Florida Atlantic Authors & Artists program on Tuesday, February 6 at the Boca Raton campus.
Hosted by the Office of Provost and University Libraries, the event recognized the distinguished work produced by Florida Atlantic scholars and researchers during the previous academic year.
Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing faculty submitted a total of 14 works, reflecting the dedication and expertise of its faculty members. Among those honored during the program were Drs. Armiel Suriaga, Debra Hain and Lisa Wiese from the College of Nursing, whose contributions stood out for their excellence and impact.
Dr. Suriaga was recognized for his journal article titled "Deaths in four opioid categories among the older population during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Florida;" Dr. Hain's "Textbook of Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nursing: Evidence-Based Care for Adolescents to Older Adults," was acknowledged for its comprehensive approach, and Dr. Wiese was recognized for research article, "Global Rural Health Disparities in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias: State of the Science."
The Authors & Artists program welcomed over 700 submissions across various forms of creative and scholarly endeavors, including books, journal articles, and artistic productions. The annual program serves as a testament to the diverse talents and contributions of the Florida Atlantic community to the advancement of knowledge and scholarly pursuit.
