Biography

Dr. Wanda Morancy is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who joined Florida Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing as a full-time faculty in 2020. She began her professional nursing journey after receiving a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Barry University in 2008. She practiced in an acute care setting for many years and assumed the roles of staff nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor on the cardiac-telemetry and intensive care unit (ICU). She then pursued a post- baccalaureate doctorate in nursing practice (DNP) and continued clinical practice as an advanced practice nurse. Her clinical practice, teaching, and service embraces the philosophy of caring and health promotion. Her passion is to empower others to maintain well-being. Dr. Morancy’s DNP Capstone focused on diabetes self-management education in Afro-descent older adults. Her area of interest includes person-centered and culturally competent concepts to promote health and decrease health disparities.
