Biography

Dr. Broadbent started her nursing career after receiving an Associate Degree in Nursing from Copiah Lincoln Community College in 1997. She practiced for several years in mental health and medical-surgical nursing in acute care settings. In 2004, she enrolled at Delta State University, where she completed her BSN and MSN degrees. Dr. Broadbent completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in 2022 at Chamberlain University. She practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner providing primary care to veterans within the Department of Veterans Affairs health system. Dr. Broadbent also has experience in urgent care, home health, and long-term care settings. Prior to joining the faculty at Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Broadbent was an educator in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs in Florida. She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and Sigma Theta Tau.
