As someone who has chosen a nursing career, you may at some point choose to  deepen your experience through graduate study.  At the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, our graduate students come from a wide array of backgrounds and experiences. Yet they share a dedication to this noble profession, and they continually seek to enhance their ability to impact the health & wellness of others.  I congratulate all of you on this commitment.

Our graduate Masters program is designed to offer the leadership, clinical experience and teaching skills that you will need in your chosen direction of practice.  The caring philosophy of our College is evident throughout our curriculum, which has been designed to fit your schedule and your life.   Our students, many of whom continue their professional careers while they resume their studies, enjoy the flexibility of full or part-time curriculums.  Our core courses also provide the option of face-to-face or on-line learning.

The Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing’s graduate Masters Level courses are an investment in your future. They demand your commitment and challenge you to be the best.  We know you are up to that challenge, and we are here to help you every step of the way.  Whether you are evaluating graduate studies or already working toward an advanced degree, my door is always open, and my staff and I are ready to assist you in your continuing journey of caring.

Graduate Masters Program Objectives
The purpose of the graduate program is to advance the study, understanding, and practice of the discipline of nursing.

The overall goal of this curriculum is to prepare graduates whose practice of nursing nurtures the wholeness of persons through caring in advanced practice nursing situations in a variety of settings.

The outcome objectives of the program are that the graduate will:
  • Be a specialist in advanced nursing practice, education, and/or administration.
  • Use personal, empirical, ethical, aesthetic, and other ways of knowing in responding critically and reflectively to calls within advanced practice nursing situations.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for independent and collaborative practice as an advanced practice nurse.
  • Address the complexity of caring through socio-cultural responsibility and accountability as a leader of the nursing profession.
  • Create caring-healing environments through personal and professional leadership.
  • Articulate and apply nursing's theoretical base to make decisions about nursing practice, evaluate outcomes, and advance nursing knowledge.
  • Initiate systematic inquiry to study and advance the discipline of nursing.
  • Collaborate with persons, families, groups, and colleagues to promote the well-being in the global community by enhancing and humanizing healthcare delivery and influencing health care policy.
