Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Accelerated track (BSN) is specifically designed for the student with a baccalaureate degree in another field who wants to become a Registered Nurse. This limited-access program is a fast-track to a professional nursing career. It is an intensive four-semester program of full-time academic study for motivated individuals looking for a challenging and stimulating career in nursing.

Applicants with a degree can only apply to the Accelerated track. Due to the intensity of the track, the College of Nursing strongly recommends that students refrain from working throughout the duration of the track.

Spring 2019 Accelerated application period: December 11, 2017 - August 3, 2018

The application for spring 2019 admission is currently open and will close August 3, 2018 at 5:00 pm. Only verified applications from Nursing CAS will be reviewed. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the Nursing CAS verification process. Applications not verified by the August 3rd deadline will not be reviewed.

Important Admission changes beginning fall 2019.

The accelerated track will transition from spring admission to fall admission only beginning fall 2019. Applications for fall 2019 admission will open November 1, 2018 – March 15, 2019.

Application changes:

The application process for the accelerated track effectively changed in April 2018.

If an applicant has all items completed (TEAS, Prerequisites) then they can go directly into the Nursing CAS application and apply to the program. Applicants no longer need an FAU email address to apply.

If an applicant has prerequisites left and wants to take them at FAU they need to apply as non-degree and then register for their prerequisites.

If an applicant wants their transcripts reviewed, they need to apply to FAU as non-degree, and send each official transcript to the university. Once the applicant is accepted, receives a Z number, and all transcripts have been received to the university, an advising appointment can be made with Chere Robinson via email

If the applicant graduated from FAU and would like transcript advising, only their Z number needs to be provided. All transcripts should already be available at the university.

All applications must be completed online and verified through Nursing's Centralized Application Service (NursingCAS)
