Louis and Anne Green Memory & Wellness Center

Volunteer Opportunities

mwc

The Center is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5 pm.  All our volunteers are very special to us and any time they can give us is greatly appreciated.  We look forward to having you join our team.

Day Center Greeter / Clerical Assistant

The role of the greeter is a very important job at the Center.  You are the first one to meet people as they enter the building.  Most of the people coming to our Center are seniors and most have dementia (dementia is the term for those with some form of memory loss).  This position requires a person who has a cheerful, outgoing and a soothing personality.  The duties include:  Opening the door and greeting all visitors; signing the participants in and out, as well as placing their name badges on; directing those here for appointments to their waiting area; providing light clerical assistance as needed.

Day Center Activities Assistant

Activities assistants would help our staff with many of the different activities we run during the day.  You may be called upon to assist in conducting a group activity, help with an individual that may need a little more one on one attention, set up and clean up supplies for programs and anything else that may need to be done.

Some of the activities may include: Brain Games, Bingo, Table Games, Current Events, Scrap-booking, Exercise, Holiday parties, Discussion groups, Pet therapy, Gardening and Entertainment. An assistant may also be asked to help set up for lunch or clean up the lunch area afterwards.

 Clinic Clerical Assistant / Greeter

Volunteers can provide assistance with basic clerical duties such as:  answering telephones, filing, making information packets, preparing materials for bulk mailings and performing computer tasks. They might also greet visitors as they enter the building, have the guest sign in on the visitors log and direct them to the proper location for the purpose of their visit.

Caring Hearts Auxiliary

This fundraising entity of the Center welcomes new members and volunteers to help in raising funds to support caregiver programs and scholarships.  The annual events include the Keep Memories Alive Walk and possibly other events as well.
