FAU Graduate Research & Inquiry Program (GRIP Grant Pilot Program)
Thanks to the support of President Kelly and Provost Perry (along with the advocacy of the GPSA and the University Graduate Council), we are proud to announce the establishment of a new pilot grant program to support graduate student research called GRIP (Graduate Research & Inquiry Program). All active, degree-seeking graduate students (master’s, doctoral, or professional) are eligible for research funding for scholarly research projects through GRIP. Awards are for 1 year in the amount of $1500 (individual) and $4000 (team science).  Students must have a Faculty Mentor Letter and are encouraged to have IRB approval or application in process at the time of submission. The application deadline is March 20, 2015. 
Below is the timeline for GRIP Grant:
  • February 5, 2015 GRIP Grant website goes live, Email to committee members and students, Social media announcement          
  • February (day TBD), 2015 GRIP launch party
  • March 9, 2015 Reminder e-mail to students about GRIP Grant application deadline
  • March 13, 2015 GPSA Research Day - Remind students of GRIP application deadline
  • March 20, 2015 Last day to submit GRIP Grant applications by 5:00 p.m.
  • March 21 - April 20, 2015 Applications reviewed by the committee and decisions will be made
  • April 27-30, 2015 E-mail notifications to awardees sent out
  • May 8, 2015 Awardees indicate acceptance of award in writing
  • July 1, 2015 Funds distributed to the awardee's designated college
  • August 1, 2015 Awardee’s first progress report due
  • December 1, 2015 Awardee’s second progress report due
  • March (day TBD), 2016 GPSA Research Day (awardees to present)
  • May 1, 2016 Awardee’s final progress report due
