NursingCAS Now Open for Spring Applications
Admissions decisions are made based upon the quality of the application and the number of available slots in the program desired. Application to the MSN and Post Masters Certificate Programs involves a two step process.
Step 1: First complete a Florida Atlantic University Graduate Application. Due to a high volume of applications and the time needed to receive and process transcripts and application fees, step one may take up to 2 weeks to complete. You may check your application status online: http://www.fau.edu/graduate/applyonline/applicationstatus/index.php
Step 2: Submit College of Nursing supplemental materials to the NursingCAS Program (https://portal.nursingcas.org/). NursingCAS is the centralized application service for students applying to nursing programs. All documents must be received in NursingCAS by the published application deadline. (Costs are the responsibility of the applicant.)
*Your admission application is contingent upon successful completion of steps 1 and 2. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications with missing documents/transcripts are considered incomplete.
NOTE: Please check below for documents you may need and/or want in advance for the application process.
All program prerequisites including specific courses required for the concentration of the student's choice must be completed before the application deadline. Students may apply for only one MSN concentration.
Please visit the specific program pages for specific course prerequisites. If you are unable to complete the prerequisite courses and submit all necessary supporting materials by the program application deadline, you are encouraged to apply for the next admission cycle for your program of interest. (Please note: the NP concentrations admit only once a year.)
In general, Graduate Program Applications can be improved by paying close attention to:
- Writing ability
- Experience in nursing relevant to the program desired indicated on your CV/resume
- Evidence of contributions to the profession, leadership experiences, and/or participation in professional organizations indicated on your CV/resume
- Articulation of Leadership in interview
- National Certification
- Community service activities
- Graduate Record Examination scores or Miller Analogy Test - MAT (If GPA is below 3.0)
Regulations governing admission to the graduate study in Nursing at FAU include those established by both the University and College of Nursing.
"All materials submitted in support of your application become the property of Florida Atlantic University. We cannot return materials or copies to applicants. Thank you for considering Florida Atlantic University for your graduate school needs."
