Neuropsychological Testing

Neuropsychological testing is a diagnostic evaluation that is an integral part of a work-up for assessing a memory disorder or complaint of a memory problem. This evaluation involves a systematic assessment of attention, memory, reasoning, language, and other brain functions to identify the individual's pattern of relative strengths and weaknesses. Upon conclusion, diagnostic impressions are offered, along with treatment recommendations. Neuropsychological testing can help to detect early memory problems and differentiate dementia syndromes from normal aging. It is typically part of the Comprehensive Memory Evaluation at the Memory and Wellness Center.
