Research of the Initiative for Intentional Health

The research focus of the Initiative for Intentional Health is on the effectiveness of complementary therapies to traditional health care as they impact health and well being. We provide education and dialogue and gather evidence to uncover outcomes as a result of holistic practice. Recent examples of research include:

  • The effect of healing gardens on older adults with mild to moderate depression.
  • The effect of music listening on acute confusion after hip and knee surgery in older adults.
  • The effect of lavender and rosemary on test anxiety and stress in nursing students
