Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science Elects Leadership Council Chair-Elect, Nominating Committee Members
Washington, DC (June 5, 2017) – The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (“The Council”) announces the election of Nancy Redeker, PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN, the Beatrice Renfield Term Professor of Nursing and director of the Biobehavioral Laboratory at Yale School of Nursing, as the 2017-2019 Chair-Elect of its Leadership Council. The Council is an open membership entity of the American Academy of Nursing whose mission is promoting better health through nursing science.
In addition, the Council announces the election of Patricia Stone, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, Centennial Professor of Health Policy and the director of the Center for Health Policy at Columbia University School of Nursing, and Linda Weglicki, PhD, RN, professor and associate dean research and scholarship and PhD studies and Schmidt Family Foundation Distinguished Scholar, to the Council’s Nominations Committee for 2017-2019.

The Council extends its gratitude to Margaret Heitkemper, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Ann Berger, PhD, APRN, AOCNS, FAAN, for their dedicated service to the Nominations Committee. Also, the Council acknowledges the many contributions of Jean Wyman, PhD, RN, GNP-BC, FAAN, FGSA, previous chair of the Leadership Council and chair of the Nominations Committee, and thanks her for her many years of service.
