Community wellness centers offer easily accessible primary health care and social services for children, teens, adults and seniors.
These are just a few examples of the impact of the Center of Innovation in School and Community Well Being, an academic center of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University. Over 8,000 persons in Palm Beach County receive health care and social services annually through this unique initiative.
The Center collaborates with health care providers, foundations and government entities to provide care for children and families in multi-cultural, underserved communities throughout Palm Beach County. This award-winning collaboration is an excellent example of how FAU's Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing extends its philosophy beyond the campus to nurture the wholeness of persons through caring.
FAU's Community Wellness Centers provide practice sites for undergraduate and graduate students to study nursing, social work and other practice disciplines with FAU faculty; opportunities for faculty and student research; and leadership in health policy development.
