Honors Pathway
Graduates of the FAU Honors College 
Pathway for Admission to the Accelerated B.S.N. Track



Students currently in the Honors College with at least a 3.0 GPA who meet all the admissions requirements of the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing's Accelerated B.S.N. Track are eligible for guaranteed admission into that track upon graduation. In order to be eligible for a guaranteed placement in the College of Nursing, Honors College students must be declared Pathways Track participants.


This opportunity is offered to 10% of the students in the entering Accelerated B.S.N. cohort each year.  In addition, the College welcomes applications from any graduates of the Honors College who meet admissions requirements. Those not in the Honors Pathway will compete for admission with all others in the applicant pool.


Honors College students must take the following prerequisite coursework for admission to the Accelerated Track in Nursing, earning at least a C in each course:

  • Anatomy and Physiology: BSC 2084/L (BSC 1010/L is a prerequisite)
  • Chemistry with lab: CHM 2045/L
  • Microbiology: MCB 3020 (BSC 1011/L is a prerequisite; CHM 2046/L is a corequisite)
  • Intro to Sociology: SYG 1000
  • Intro to Psychology: PSY 1012
  • Growth and Development: DEP 2004 or DEP 3053
  • Mathematics: STA 2023; and either MAC 1105 (College algebra, not offered at the Honors College) or MAC 1147 (Precalculus) or MAC 2311 (Calculus I)
  • Nutrition: either NUR 3183, DIE 1201, HUN 1201, or CHS 3410 (not offered at the Honors College but can be taken at the Boca Raton campus or elsewhere)
