Application Process
Admission to the Graduate-Masters Program(s)
Admissions decisions are made based upon the quality of the application and the number of available slots in the program desired. Application to all graduate-Masters programs (MS, Post-MS Certificate, MS Bridge) involves a *two step process*.

Step 1: First complete a Florida Atlantic University Graduate Application. Due to a high volume of applications and the time needed to receive and process transcripts and application fees, step one may take up to 2 weeks to complete. You may check your application status online: http://www.fau.edu/graduate/applyonline/applicationstatus/index.php

Step 2: Turn in [hand deliver or mail] your completed checklist with all supporting documents to Graduate Student Services in the College of Nursing. All documents must be received or postmarked by the published application deadlines.

*Your admission application is contingent upon successful completion of steps 1 and 2 - the University and receipt by College of Nursing of all supporting documents.

NOTE: Please check below for documents you may need and/or want in advance for the application process.

All materials (checklist and supporting documents) sent to the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing must be submitted together in one envelope by the program deadline. No application will be considered unless all materials are submitted together. All program prerequisites including specific courses required for the track of the student's choice must be completed before the application deadline. Please visit the specific program pages for specific course prerequisites. If you are unable to complete the prerequisite courses and submit all necessary supporting materials by the program application deadline, you are encouraged to apply for the next admission cycle for your program of interest. (Please note: the NP tracks admit only once a year with a March 1st application deadline.)

In general, Graduate Program Applications can be improved by paying close attention to:

  • Writing ability
  • Experience in nursing relevant to the program desired
  • Evidence of contributions to the profession Leadership experiences Participation in professional organizations
  • Articulation of Leadership
  • National Certification
  • Community service activities
  • Graduate Record Examination scores or Miller Analogy Test - MAT (If GPA is below 3.0)

Regulations governing admission to the graduate study in Nursing at FAU include those established by both the University and College of Nursing.

"All materials submitted in support of your application become the property of Florida Atlantic University. We cannot return materials or copies to applicants. Thank you for considering Florida Atlantic University for your graduate school needs."
