About

At the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, we talk a great deal about student-governance, an overarching term used to describe involvement of students in the workings of the College, and the extent to which Student Council is a completely student-run organization. Student Council is strongly related to the values and ideas of the College, including a unique, caring-based nursing curriculum.

Student Council works with administrators, Board Members, and faculty members throughout the year, advocating for the interests and needs of students. In fact, Student Council organizes an annual meeting, an open forum, open to the student body of the College of Nursing. The Council meets with the Dean each semester to review and discuss ideas and student interests. As members of the community, the voices, opinions, and ideas of students are present on almost every committee at the College of Nursing.

Students are afforded the opportunity to craft the kinds of experiences they wish to have, as well as to shape the future of Nursing. Here at the College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University, students of all years, all backgrounds, and all interests are given the responsibility, recourses, and the respect necessary for that to happen.

The Council meets formally once per month. Meetings are on the last Tuesday of every month at 4:00 p.m. in NU 324. For the Fall, the following are the meeting times:
